Construction Safety in Surrey
I grew up in this city, before it was even called a city. Back min the day it was a Municipality. In fact, it was the biggest municipality in the British Commonwealth. That's when White Rock was part of Surrey, 152 didn't go all the way to White Rock, 96 Ave was just a 2 lane road a step above a gravel street. Having gone to L.A. Matheson when it was just a junior high from grade 8 to 10. After which it was onwards to Princess Margaret Secondary. Both are very different now.
Growing up in Surrey in the 70s you could always find me hanging around the construction sites. It's was in the blood. My dad was a senior superintendent for Surrey and my uncle, his brother was a district manager for the provincial Hwys department He ran North Vancouver to Pemberton while my dad was incharge of projects like the widening of 104th Ave from King George in Whalley to 152 Street in Guildford.
Myself, I started out in the Masonry trades working for the managers son of my old soccer team the Whalley Rovers. over time and later on in the years I began building my company FreeBird safety Services and the related brand. With over 30 years now in the trades and safety related fields, I have the skills, knowledge and experience to protect those who require construction safety in Surrey.

MY STORY FROM THE TRADES TO SAFETY
FreeBird Safety Services was founded in September 2011. With over 30 years of Trades Construction Experience on projects spanning from Single Family Residential * Commercial * High-Rises * Multi-Unit Condominiums * Industrial * and Infrastructure. After primarily working in the Masonry trade, along the way I picked up experience in Carpentry, Equipment Operation, with some Plumbing and Electrical work. Gaining a general knowledge in a vast section of common trades helps to conduct the general tasks of a safety professional in General Construction.
Now as an Experienced and very Knowledgeable Occupational Health and Safety Professional, my main focus is the protection of workers. Educating and Training them so they can conduct their trade tasks is a much safer way. This in turn increases revenue, and a reputation as a safe worker. However, the most important factor is they go home every night to their family injury free.
