UVEX AVATAR S2850HS

In the light of protecting your eyes on the job site, Honeywell has introduced the UVEX AVATAR Safety Glasses. With 14 different varieties in this series, the S2850HS Clear glasses are the ones examined here. First off, these are not your standard $3 safety glasses bought by the hundreds for a construction site.  At a price point of $9 to $14 plus depending on where you purchase them, these are not throwaways. Not taking care of these glasses could increase your safety budget rather quickly. Purchasing a dollar store protective case would be a great option as these glasses do not come with one.

Anti Fog

Coupled with an anti-fog coating, the Honeywell UVEX AVATAR S2850HS has breathers on the top of the frame for venting. As well, not fitting tight to your cheeks at the lens bottom increases airflow. By no means does this spacing diminish protection due to their large wraparound feature. However, with increased body heat and perspiration, the need to clean the lenses will be needed. Not 100% perfect (no safety glasses are), these do prevent fogging better than most.

Durability and Protection

In general, the Honeywell UVEX AVATAR S2850HS are flexible a very durable. In addition, they have been tested to meet the requirements of the CSA Z94.3 standard. Yet this doesn't mean that less be taken. Like all your PPE, they need to be treated with respect. Unlike tinted or 50/50 semi mirrored glasses, the UVEX AVATAR S2850HS  are not that good for bright sun-filled days. Having a U6 grade-level filtering 99.9% of UVB/UVA, this protection is outstanding. Yet the standard glare from the sun can still be a nuisance.

Comfort Level

Sporting flexible frames and a soft nose mount, the Honeywell UVEX AVATAR S2850HS Safety Glasses are very comfortable to wear. Like every new piece of PPE, you will get use to the fit. Be that as it may, soon you will forget you are even wearing them.
